Dear Grindle,

You recently sent us, for information, a copy of Peel's

unofficial letter to you of 12th November, 1930, enclosing a memorandum

on Kowloon and the New Territories. We presume that the question of

ceding any of the leased territory is not being or likely to be

seriously entertained.
